JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Dickinson resident, Dwayne Cason, 60, faces charges after a crash occurred on Thursday afternoon on I-94, just west of Jamestown, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Cason lost control of his SUV while driving on I-94, veering into the ditch, and then further into a slough, eventually crossing open water before finally coming to a stop upright amidst cattails.
Following the incident, troopers assisted both Cason and his passenger out of the slough. Although the passenger emerged unscathed, both individuals were taken to Jamestown Regional Medical Center via ambulance. Cason sustained minor injuries and remains hospitalized.
Authorities arrested Cason on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, marking a concerning turn of events in the aftermath of the crash.
