JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Council met for a special meeting on Tuesday evening. All council members were in attendance, except Councilman Kamlitz who was absent.

The meeting proceeded with Council Member Schloegel introducing a resolution to endorse the agreement transferring ownership of the historic railroad caboose, formerly belonging to the Midland Continental Railroad, along with its wheels, track, and associated signage. The items are situated on the south side of Louis L’Amour Lane in the Frontier Village. The resolution proposed the transfer from the City of Jamestown to JK Ventures, LLC, operating as Jamestown Campground. The resolution also sought authorization for the Mayor and City Administrator to sign the agreement. Council Member Steele seconded the motion. The motion was passed 4-0.

Following this, Council Member Buchanan proposed a resolution to approve the Construction Manager at Risk contract with Ferguson Enterprises, LLC. The contract included a Guaranteed Maximum Price of $2,614,865. The resolution sought authorization for the Mayor to execute the agreement. Council Member Schloegel seconded the motion. The motion carried 4-0.

The meeting adjourned following the resolutions’ passage.

The City Council will reconvene on May 6, 2024, for its regular session.
