JAMESTOWN – Once again, no one in the GPAC could touch Jamestown Jimmies Men’s Volleyball.

Jamestown won its fourth straight GPAC championship Saturday, sweeping Morningside 25-18, 25-17, 25-21 at Harold Newman Arena.

Caydann Cox led the Jimmies with 12 kills (.345) and four digs.  Caylor Cox, who never lost in 33 matches on his home floor, had 11 kills (.375) and eight digs.  Tysen Myers and Gaven Hackley each had eight kills.

The Cox brothers and Tysen Myers combined for 16 of the Jimmies’ 19 kills (.484) in the first set.

Caydann Cox and Hackley each notched four kills in the second set.

The third set was close the entire time.  Morningside led 14-13 before Jamestown (20-1) scored the next three points.

Up 22-21, the Jimmies then scored the last three points of the match, two of which were on a block and a kill by Caydann Cox.

Jamestown will compete in the NAIA Men’s Volleyball National Championship starting April 30 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
