CARPIO, N.D. (NDHP) – 84-year-old Dale Graff of Carpio, North Dakota died after he was struck by a train northwest of Carpio on Sunday, April 7th about 1pm.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) responded to a fatal train vs pedestrian collision on the railroad tracks near mile marker 67 on Highway 52 approximately 1.5 miles northwest of Carpio.

The patrol said a southbound Canadian Pacific Train operator observed a tractor near the tracks approximately 1⁄2 mile away. The operator sounded the horn. The operator then observed a man standing on the side of the tracks. The operator continued to sound the horn. The train struck the Dale Graff resulting in fatal injuries.
