GRAND FORKS, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The solar eclipse of April 8, 2024 is now in the history books. The total solar eclipse was visible within a band covering parts of North America, from Mexico to Canada and crossing the contiguous United States.
The eclipse was partially visible for a few brief moments in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota. i3G Media’s Ryan Cunningham was able to capture a photo of the partial eclipse near Grand Forks on Monday, April 8th.
A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby obscuring the Sun for a few minutes during an eclipse.
