YANKTON, SD – One game went well and one didn’t Monday for Jamestown Jimmies Baseball.

Jamestown won the opener of a doubleheader Monday 2-0 over Mount Marty before the Lancers blanked the Jimmies in the second game 9-0 at Bob Tereshinski Stadium at Riverside Field.

The games were a makeup of a doubleheader that had been scheduled for Sunday at Jack Brown Stadium.  Jamestown batted last in both games.

Game 1: Jamestown 2, Mount Marty 0

Cade Torgerson (7-1) and Hayden Brown combined on a five-hit shutout for Jamestown (22-9, 8-5 GPAC).  Torgerson struck out seven and walked one.  Torgerson pitched the first six and a third innings.  He gave up a leadoff double in the seventh to Mount Marty’s Shugo Kondo, and Brown retired the last two hitters for his second save.
