JAMESTOWN – Jamestown has been too much for GPAC men’s volleyball opposition this season, as they again proved Saturday.

The Jimmies defeated Ottawa 25-22, 25-11, 25-19 and Central Christian 25-5, 25-12, 25-15 at Harold Newman Arena to complete a 10-0 GPAC regular season.  Jamestown will be the top seed in and host the GPAC Men’s Volleyball Fab Four on April 19-20.

Caydann Cox had 13 kills (.344) for the Jimmies (18-1, 9-0 GPAC), with six digs and three blocks.  Tysen Myers scored nine kills (.818) with two blocks and two digs.  Caylor Cox had eight kills, five aces and two digs.

Ottawa was still even at 20-20 in the first set, but Caylor Cox had two kills, Tomasz Swiderski had one and Ottawa committed an attack error to wrap up the set for the Jimmies.

UJ led 11-1 and 17-3 in the second set.

In the third set, Ottawa was down only 11-10 before Jamestown had a 6-1 run.

Five players had at least four kills as the Jimmies used mainly reserves.  Four players recorded assists for Jamestown (19-1, 10-0) in the team’s 11th straight win.

Matthew Wagner led with nine kills (.583).  Donte Jennings had eight kills (.400) and six digs.  Jeffrey Grant Foster notched seven kills (.667) with two blocks.

The GPAC postseason tournament will begin next weekend with the third- through sixth-place teams playing on the home floors of the higher seeds.  Then, the “Fab Four” will be held on Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20 at Harold Newman Arena.  On April 19, Dordt will host the winner of the Morningside/Central Christian first round playoff match at 5:00 PM and Jamestown will host the Kansas Wesleyan/Ottawa winner at 7:00 PM.  The semifinal winners will then square off on April 20 at 3:00 PM.
