Three area players were named to the Class B All-State basketball teams, released Tuesday.
Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier senior guard Matayea Mathern was named to the girls all-state first team. Mathern averaged 17.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 4.5 steals per game as she helped the Rebels earn the runner-up spot at this season’s state tournament.
Sophomore forward Karleigh Kadoun of Sargent County was named to the second team. Kadoun posted averages of 18.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 3.3 steals as the Bulldogs finished third at state.
Guard Max Musland, a senior at LaMoure-Litchville/Marion, was named boys first-team all-state. Musland poured in 25.5 points per game and also averaged 6.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.5 steals while shooting 52% from the field and hitting 73 percent of his free throws.
