Landis Larson
JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – North Dakota AFL-CIO President/Secretary-Treasurer Landis Larson will be our special guest speaker on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at the Jamestown Arts Center beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Human Rights are Worker’s Rights. President Larson will discuss the correlation of unions and human rights. A Q & A will follow.
“We are one of nearly 500 state and local labor councils of the AFL-CIO and are the heart of the labor movement. We are democratically elected bodies dedicated to representing the interests of working people in North Dakota at the state and local level. We mobilize our members and community partners to advocate for social and economic justice and we strive daily to vanquish oppression and make our communities better for all people—regardless of race, color, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, or ethnic or national origin.” said Landis.
Landis signed his union card in 1978 and in the mid 80’s became very active in his union, In 2019 he was elected to the President of the North Dakota AFL-CIO and continued his advocacy working with the North Dakota legislature.
