SIOUX CENTER, IA – The offense rolled for Jamestown in the GPAC baseball openers.
The Jimmies swept Dordt Friday 10-4 and 8-2 at Open Space Park to start their final regular season of GPAC play.
Game 1: Jamestown 10, Dordt 4
Jamestown (15-4, 1-0 GPAC) extended a 3-1 lead to 8-1 with a five-run fourth inning. Jordan Singleton brought in the inning’s first two runs with a single and Hayden Brown followed with a three-run homer.
Jett Nelson and Ryan Muizelaar had RBI singled in a two-run third inning.
Triston Madison hit a sacrifice fly.
Luke Zimmer (4-1) won despite allowing seven hits, five walks and four runs in four and two-thirds innings. Ethan Petty and Joe Hart combined for two and a third innings of scoreless relief.
Game 2: Jamestown 8, Dordt 2
Singleton drove in three more runs for the Jimmies (16-4, 2-0). Madison brought in the first of four fifth-inning runs with a squeeze play that turned into a Dordt error.
Cade Torgerson (6-0) struck out 10 in six and two-thirds innings, allowing just a run and five hits. Ryan Radkey pitched the last two and a third innings.
Jamestown will play another doubleheader at Dordt on Saturday.
