Buckets of Fun. Quality remains the case on Devils Lake as the ice angling season wraps for the author, with walleyes biting during traditional dawn and dusk periods. DEO Photo by Mike Peluso.

It seems crazy to think, but I have only two weeks left up here on Devils Lake for the winter. Time flies when you stay busy.
The winter season has been an absolute roller coaster. We have had some great days and we have had sone tough days. There are lots of reasons for this I suppose, but for us as guides it is what it is.
On the bright side though, it’s been a winter of quality over quantity. With the perch never really bunching up this winter, I think the future is bright and in some way, it’s Mother Nature’s means of protecting the resource.
The Minnewauken Fishing Tournament this past weekend was another success! 513 registered anglers took part in it with lots of big walleyes being brought in. It was certainly cool to see, especially with the pictures of the kids holding the fish.
The Ice Fishing Central rods were a hit this winter with lots of good feedback. We are super excited with how our first winter has gone and we will have more products and rods coming out for the next hardwater season. Head to www.icefishingcentral.net to check them out!
I’ll have one more winter report before heading back to Bismarck to begin the open water guide season on the Missouri River near Bismarck. I will have early dates available if anyone is interested, so get ahold of me!
