
SIOUX CITY, IA – Jamestown Jimmies guard Silas Bennion was named to the first team and forward Jimmy Llinas was named to the second team of the Great Plains Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball All-Conference Teams, released Wednesday.
Bennion, a 6’0″ junior guard from Eugene, Oregon, is 10th in the GPAC with 18.0 points per game. The Lewis & Clark College transfer is eighth in the league in three-point percentage at 42.6% and tied for second in the conference with 2.0 steals per game. He has scored at least 20 points in a game 12 times in his first season with the Jimmies and at least 30 twice, including a career-high 38 against Dickinson State on November 10.
Llinas, a 6’8″ senior forward from Port Saint Lucie, Florida, was also named as the GPAC Defensive Player of the Year. He leads the GPAC in rebounding at 9.5 per game, which is tied for 21st in the nation. Llinas, a transfer from St. Xavier University, leads the conference and is fourth in the nation with 69 blocked shots.
Will Cordes and Cole Woodford were named Honorable Mention All-GPAC. Cordes, a 5’11” senior guard from Shakopee, Minnesota, is averaging 11.7 points per game and is 15th on the Jimmies’ all-time scoring list with 1,400 points. Woodford, a 6’1″ senior guard from Redwood Falls, Minnesota, is averaging 12.4 points per game and has 81 made three-pointers this season for a career total 303, second in program history. He is 14th in Jimmie scoring all-time with 1,433 points.
