SIOUX CITY, IA – Kate Cordes of the Jamestown Jimmies was named to the first team and her teammates Kia Tower and Audrey Rodakowski were named to the second team in Great Plains Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball All-Conference teams, released Wednesday.
Cordes, a 5’8″ sophomore guard from Shakopee, Minnesota, leads the Jimmies and is fourth in the GPAC in scoring at 15.0 points per game. She has made 43.2% of her three-pointers, fourth-best in the GPAC and tied for 20th in the nation. Cordes has made 76 three-pointers, topping the GPAC and leaving her only seven short of the single-season program record.
Tower, a 5’6″ fifth-year senior guard from Bigfork, Minnesota, is averaging 13.5 points per game. She also averages 3.6 assists per contest, third-best in the GPAC. Tower has 1,785 career points, only 16 away from the Jimmies’ all-time leading scorer, Keri Bakker. Tower scored a career-high 30 points in her final regular season home game, a win over Dakota Wesleyan on February 24 at Harold Newman Arena. Her 86.2% free throw accuracy is tied for second in the GPAC. If that average stays where it is or increases, it would set the single-season record for Jimmie Women’s Basketball.
Rodakowski, a 6’0″ senior center from Dickinson, is tied for 10th in the GPAC at 13.8 points per game. Her average of 6.0 rebounds a game is 11th in the conference.
Kate Busek was named Honorable Mention All-GPAC. Busek, a 5’9″ junior guard from Fargo Shanley, is averaging 5.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
