Jamestown, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Class B Region 1 Boys Basketball Tournament begins at the Jamestown Civic Center on March 4th.
All games can be heard on KDDR The Tornado and 98.3 Thunder Country.

Game 1: #6 Hankinson Pirates 64-71 LaMoure-LM Loboes
The Loboes knocked off the #6 Pirates to advance to the semifinals. The game started with back and forth play as the lead changed a lot in the first quarter with Hankinson having the lead after one 11-9. However Max Musland would come alive in the 2nd quarter and drop 16 to propel the Loboes to a 29-22 lead. The Pirates couldn’t keep in that quarter as the Raeshaun Earl had 18 of the 22 points in the half. Musland kept going in the 3rd quarter as the Loboes extended their lead to 51-38. They would drop 5 more 3’s in the 4th quarter to secure the 71-64 victory.
The Leading Scorer all around was Earl with 39 (15/32 FG, 5/7 FT). For the Loboes Musland had 31 (10/20 FG, 7/9 FT) he also had a double-double with 10 Rebounds.
The Loboes advance to the semifinals tomorrow at 6:00 pm while the Pirates season comes to a close with a 18-4 record.
Game 2: Ellendale Cardinals 61-48 Barnes County North Bison
The Cardinals advanced to the semifinals as they end the Bison’s cinderella run. The Cards controlled most of the game as they got out to a quick 22-11 lead after the 1st quarter. The Bison would battle back in the second to bring the game back to 30-25. The Cards would take momentum back and take a 48-38 lead. They would hold that lead and win 61-48.
The leading scorer all around was Mason Molan with 16 (5/9 FG, 6/7 FT). Anton Geller of Ellendale had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Leading scorer for BCN was Will Schwer with 15 (6/17 FG, 1/3 FT).
The Cards advance to play to Loboes tomorrow at 6:00 pm. BCN’s season comes to an end with a 14-9 record.
Game 3: #5 EKM Rebels 61 Wyndmere-Lidgerwood Warbirds 51
The Warbirds trailed by 15 points early in the third quarter at 44-29 but finished the quarter on a 18-4 run and cut the deficit to 48-47 heading to the final quarter. The Rebels would hold the Warbirds to 4 points in the final 8 minutes and advance to the semifinals with a hard fought 61-51 victory. The Rebels were paced by Austin Strobel with 14 points and added 7 rebounds. Jacob Nitschke added 12 points and a game high 15 rebounds. Zeke Barnick added 12 points and Brad Kinzler added 9 points and a game high 8 assists to aid the Rebel win. The Warbirds had 4 players in double figures scoring led by Hunter Dunn (14), Levi Kackman (12), Jace Stenson (11), and Brian Quam (11). Kackman added 9 rebounds and Dunn had 7 boards. The Warbirds finish the season 9-14 overall and EKM improves to 20-3 and will play Sargent County on Tuesday night in the semifinals.
Game 4: RV Sargent County Bulldogs 51 #10 Linton/HMB Lions 50
The Bulldogs and Lions battled the entire 32 minutes with the Bulldogs prevailing 51-50 to advance to the semifinals. The Lions led 29-26 at halftime but were held to 5 points in the third quarter and trailed 38-34 after three quarters. Late free throws (5-7) in the final quarter aided the Bulldogs win. A late three from Kaden Masset from Linton-HMB cut the lead to 51-50 with 1 second to play. The Bulldogs threw the inbounds pass into the front court where it was touched by a Bulldog to runout the time. Sargent County was paced by Josh Wittich with a team high 19 points and a game high 15 rebounds. Grady Wehlander added 13 points and 6 rebounds. Luke Martinson added 9 points and 4 rebounds for the Bulldogs. The Lions were paced by Jace Jochim with a game high 27 points (6 three pointers), 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. Kashton Moser added 7 points and 5 rebounds and Gentry Richter added 6 points and a team high 10 rebounds. The Lions finish the season 18-5 and the Bulldogs improved to 17-6 and will play EKM in the semifinals Tuesday night.
