Jamestown, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Girls Class B State Basketball Tournament begins from the Jamestown Civic Center on February 29th.

All games all tournament long can be heard on KDDR The Tornado and 98.3 Thunder Country.

Quarterfinal 1 – #2 Bowman County Bulldogs 69-43 #7 Maple River Raiders 

The Bowman County Bulldogs showed why they’re the #2 seed with a dominant victory over the Raiders. The game started well for the Bulldogs as they quickly built a 16-10 lead which they would not give up the entire game. They would build it up to 35-24 at the half. They’d continue expanding in the 3rd with a 53-34 lead. They’d finish with a 69-43 victory.

The All Around leading scorer was Sophia Headley with 32 (13/23 FG, 10/17 FT) and had 15 rebounds for the double-double. Carly Hovelson and BriElle Killoran lead scoring for the Raiders with 12 each.

The Bulldogs advance to the semifinals where they meet EKM. The Raiders go to the Consolation Bracket where they’ll play Central McClean.

Quarterfinal 2 – #3 Central McClean Cougars 42-43 #6 EKM Rebels 

The Rebels survived the Cougars to advance to the semifinals for the first time since Marion/Montpelier did in 1992. The Game started well for EKM as they got to a 14-8 lead after 1. That lead wasn’t for long however as the Cougars battled to take a 25-19 lead at the half. The Rebels would cut the lead down by 1 after the 3rd as they got the score down to 34-29. The Rebels and the Cougars would trade the lead in the 4th before an Abby Mathern long range 2 with 11 seconds left game the Rebels the 43-42 victory.

Leading all around scoring was Mataeya Mathern with 15 (5/11 FG, 5/8 FT) she also had a double-double with 12 rebounds. Leading scorer for the Cougars was Raegan Kjelstrup with 13 (5/18 FG).

The Rebels face Bowman County in the 1st semifinal tomorrow at 1:00 PM. The Cougars face the Raiders tomorrow night in the consolation Semifinals.

Quarterfinal 3 – #1 May-Port-CG Patriots 64-43 #8 Kenmare-Bowbells Honkers

It was more of the same for the Patriots as the top seed got five players in double figures in rolling the Honkers 64-43.  Maysa Larson had 14, Danica Hanson added 12, Reagan Zerface had 11 and Raina and Rylee Satrom each poured in 10 as the Pats advance to the 3pm Friday Semifinal against #4 Sargent County

Mashae Miller had 15 for the Honkers, who face Our Redeemer’s in a consolation semifinal Friday night.

Quarterfinal 4 – #4 Sargent County Bulldogs 54-52 #5 Our Redeemers Knights

Sophomore Karleigh Kadoun registered 19 points and 7 rebounds and the Sargent County Bulldogs, in their first state tournament since 1995, survived and advanced with a 54-52 win over Our Redeemer’s on Thursday night.  Halle Nelson and Emma Bixby added 10 each as the Bulldogs advanced to face the May-Port CG Patriots in Friday afternoon’s semifinal.

Maya Vibeto, Mikayla Altringer, and Kadyn Braun accounted for all 52 points for the Knights, who face Kenmare-Bowbells in a Consolation Semifinal Friday night.
