VALLEY CITY, ND  (NewsDakota.com, picture courtesy of VCSUVikings.com)  VCSU Viking baseball has captured it’s first weekly award of the spring season.

Viking pitcher Khalil Tilbury was named the NSAA’s Pitcher of the Week for his performance last week.  Tilbury pitched a gem against Dakota Wesleyan, picking up a no-decision for the effort.

Tilbury pitched six strong shutout innings, striking out six while walking five, surrendering two hits.  He exited the game with a 1-0 lead, but the Tigers struck for two runs in the seventh, sending the Vikings to a 2-1 loss.

The Vikings were 1-3 during a weekend series in Kansas City.  They start their spring break run in Orlando, FL Friday.
