VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The district 24 Republican Delegate Convention was held Friday, February 23rd in Valley City.
District 24 Republican Chairman Daniel Johnston said the purpose of the convention was to elect delegates to the North Dakota GOP State Convention and endorse district 24 Republican Legislative candidates to run in the upcoming November 5th general election.
The local party delegates nominated Mike Wobbema to run for re-election as their district 24 State Senator and delegates also endorsed Daniel Johnston to run as a district 24 State Representative this November.
Meanwhile, district 24 State Representative Dwight Kiefert decided not to seek the district 24 Republican endorsement. Kiefert said he gathered the necessary signatures and submitted them to the Barnes County Auditor’s office to run in the upcoming June 11th primary. If Kiefer, Wobbema and Johnston receive voter approval in the primary, their names will be on the November 5th general election ballot.
