JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Council greenlit moving forward for the second phase of the 96-inch storm sewer replacement initiative, a pivotal infrastructure project aimed at mitigating stormwater issues in southwest Jamestown.
The approved resolution also included directives for the preparation of a preliminary engineering report, underlining the council’s commitment to advancing infrastructure improvements in the area.
The City Council’s unanimous endorsement also extended to the authorization of an application for a grant earmarked for the second phase of the storm sewer replacement. Administered through the Disaster Water Grants Program under the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development, the grant’s exact amount remains uncertain.
The plan is to put in a new 96-inch pipe starting from 25th Street Southwest and going north toward U.S. Highway 281 and Interstate 94.
