JAMESTOWN, N.D. (KFGO) – AN 18-YEAR-OLD FARGO WOMAN HAS FILED A LAWSUIT IN FEDERAL COURT ACCUSING THE OWNERS OF THE SUBWAY RESTAURANT IN JAMESTOWN OF ALLOWING HER TO BE RAPED BY A SUPERVISOR WHO WAS A KNOWN SEXUAL OFFENDER.

THE GIRL WAS A 17-YEAR-OLD HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT WHEN SHE WAS SEXUALLY ASSAULTED AND GIVEN DRUGS BY ZEFERINO RANGEL, ACCORDING TO THE LAWSUIT. RANGEL WAS ARRESTED IN NOVEMBER 2022 AFTER THE GIRL TOLD HER PRINCIPAL ABOUT THE SEXUAL ABUSE.

RANGEL LATER PLEADED GUILTY AND WAS SENTENCED TO 25 YEARS IN PRISON. HE RECENTLY APPEALED THE SENTENCE CLAIMING IT WAS UNNECESSARILY HARSH. THE WOMAN IS ASKING FOR A JURY TRIAL AND DAMAGES OF 50-MILLION DOLLARS.
