Jamestown, ND (NewsDakota.com) – Day 2 of the Class B Region 1 Girls Basketball Tournament continues on Tuesday, February 20th at the Jamestown Civic Center with 2 semifinals matchups featuring 4 top 15 teams.

The results will be listed below as games go final.

-Semifinal 1: #5 Sargent County 47-40 LaMoure-LM

The Bulldogs came back from an 11 point deficit in the 3rd quarter to take home the victory against the Loboes of LaMoure-LM. The game started off poorly for the Bulldogs as they couldn’t get anything going in the first half as they trailed 17-9 after the 1st quarter of play and 23-15 at the half as LaMoure-LM rode a big first half from Tessa Rasmussen. The start of the 3rd was going all Loboes as they took a 28-17 lead however that lead would erode away and soon vanish off the back of Karleigh Kadoun and Amber Kjar. The score after 3 quarters of play was 30-29 Loboes lead. The Bulldogs and Loboes would trade points back and forth till the end when the Sargent County pulled away for the 47-40 victory.

The Leading Scorers were Rasumessen with 13 (5/17 FG, 2/2 FT) and Kadoun with 13 (6/18 FG). Norah Delabarre had a double-double with 11 points and 10 Rebounds and Amber Kjar had a double-double as well with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Loboes await a third place game opponent while the Bulldogs await a Championship Opponent.

Semifinal 2: #6 EKM 63-47 #7 Maple River 

The EKM Rebels Region Title Defense still stands as they beat Maple River 60-47. They led the Raiders through out the game as they started the game by getting a 16-8 lead after the first quarter. That lead would continued to be build with Abby Mathern having a 17 point first half. The Rebels would lead the Raiders 34-17. That 17 point lead would be cut down to 12 at one point in the third before EKM built the lead back to 14 leading 49-35 after 3. They would build their lead to an insurmountable 20 points late in the game which would eventually be cut down to 16 late but it was too little too late as time ran out on the Raiders. The final was 63-47.

The leading scorer was Abby Mathern with 24 (10/16 FG, 1/2 FT) for EKM and Adyson Hannig for the Raiders had 21 (7/12 FG, 7/7 FT).

The Rebels advance for the second straight year to a Region Championship while Maple River’s season hangs in the balance as they play a third place game against LaMoure-LM.

Thursday Schedule:

Third Place Game (Winner goes to Mayville to play Region 2 Runner Up) – LaMoure-LM vs #7 Maple River – 6:00 PM

Championship Game (Winner to State, Loser plays Region 2 3rd Place) – #5 Sargent County vs # 6 EKM – 20 mins later
