Dolores Mary Rose Koller, 92, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024, at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington, ND.

Dolores was born on January 27, 1932, the second child of John and Gertrude (Wetzstein) Koller. She grew up south of Glen Ullin where she attended country school, and later school in town. She graduated from Glen Ullin High School in 1949. She attended Dickinson State Teacher’s College, the University of Colorado at Boulder, and received a Master of Arts degree from Kent State University in Ohio. She was also a recipient of a Fulbright scholarship to the University of Heidelberg, Germany.

Dolores worked as a language teacher, teaching English in Cali, Columbia and in New Mexico and also teaching high school German for a number of years. In her later years she worked for the State of North Dakota in Bismarck, ND.

She enjoyed traveling, writing poetry, reading, and visiting with friends and family. She was a wealth of information about “the old days” and older relatives.

Dolores is survived by 4 sisters: Laurentia Chamblee (FL), Sr. M. Annuntia, MSC (PA), Lucy Koller (Minneapolis, MN), and Irene Rudy (Christopher, MI), and 2 brothers: John (Mimi, NY) and Mike (Bev, Glen Ullin, ND), and many nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, Mary Ann Koller, 2 brothers: Lawrence W. Koller and Martin M. Koller, and 3 sisters: Clara C. Miller, Ann Schaff, and Mary Chandler, and some nieces and nephews.

There will be visitation at 10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM, February 22, 2024 at Sacred Heart Church, followed by internment at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Glen Ullin, ND, next to her parents and older brother Lawrence. Fr. Gary Benz will officiate.
