VALLEY CITY, ND  (NewsDakota.com)  Tonight marks the start of the Class B District 1 boys basketball tournament, the first of the three-division era.

Eighth-seed Maple Valley will face ninth-seed Enderlin tonight in a play-in matchup in Tower City.  The winner advances to the final field of eight, with the tournament being played at Valley City State University February 23rd through the 27th.

Sargent County is the top seed in the tournament, and will get the Maple Valley-Enderlin winner.  Hankinson is the second seed, and faces Tri-State in the opening round.  Barnes County North earned the three seed, and faces Richland, and Oakes is the four seed, and draws Wyndmere-Lidgerwood.

The top four teams will advance to Region 1 tournament play.
