MANDAN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Dakota Restaurant Partners Inc., a Burger King franchisee, announced Wednesday, Feb. 14, its acquisition of 14 Burger King restaurants across the region. The acquisition encompasses 10 locations in North Dakota, including Jamestown, one in South Dakota, two in Minnesota, and one in Montana.
The partnership, comprising franchise owners Ayaz Virji, Jen Dirk, and Neerja Paul, boasts over 60 years of combined experience within the Burger King brand.
This acquisition aligns with Burger King’s “Reclaim the Flame” strategy unveiled in September 2022, aimed at rejuvenating the system with dedicated operators and modernized establishments to elevate the customer experience.
Jen Dirk, one of the franchise owners, began her journey with Burger King as a team member at one of the Bismarck locations she now owns. Over three decades, Dirk ascended to roles including restaurant general manager, director, and senior vice president of operations, overseeing 120 Burger King locations before transitioning to franchise ownership in 2023.
Ayaz Virji, a Burger King franchisee for over 15 years, and Neerja Paul, a strategic partner and investor with a background in customer service and hospitality, join Dirk in this venture.
The 14 Burger King restaurants under Dakota Restaurant Partners Inc.’s management span Bismarck, Devils Lake, Dickinson, Fargo, Jamestown, and Mandan in North Dakota; Aberdeen and Yorktown in South Dakota; Moorhead and Park Rapids in Minnesota; and Sidney in Montana.
In line with the acquisition, all new locations will undergo enhancements, including digital upgrades and order kiosks, to enhance the guest experience. Select locations will undergo renovations.
Looking ahead, Dakota Restaurant Partners Inc. plans to expand its portfolio while retaining existing team members and adding new staff as required. The partners aim to foster community relationships through increased participation in local events, fundraisers, and schools.
