FORMAN, N.D. (KFGO) – A MAN HAS BEEN CHARGED AFTER A TEENAGE BOY WAS LIT ON FIRE IN SARGENT COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA LAST WEEKEND.
SHERIFF TRAVIS PAEPER SAYS IT HAPPENED AT A FARM SHOP EARLY SUNDAY MORNING FEBRUARY 11TH. HIS DEPARTMENT LEARNED OF IT LATER THAT DAY. VIDEO OF THE INCIDENT IS CIRCULATING ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND THE SHERIFF WAS ABLE TO RECOVER A COPY OF THE VIDEO.
PAEPER SAYS THE 15-YEAR-OLD VICTIM WAS AT A PARTY WHEN A JUVENILE MALE SPRAYED HIM WITH BRAKE CLEANER. 19-YEAR-OLD LANCE TYLER, OF FORMAN THEN USED A TORCH TO IGNITE THE VICTIM AS THE VICTIM RAN UP A FLIGHT OF STAIRS WHERE OTHERS AT THE PARTY PUT OUT THE FLAMES. THE VICTIM RECEIVED 2ND AND 3RD DEGREE BURNS ON HIS NECK, FACE AND EAR.
TYLER WAS LATER ARRESTED IN WAHPETON. HE’S CHARGED WITH FELONY AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WITH A DANGEROUS WEAPON AND RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT. THE BOND WAS SET AT $10,000
CHARGES ARE PENDING FOR THE JUVENILE MALE WHO SPRAYED THE TEEN WITH THE BRAKE CLEANER.
