Jamestown, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—The Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier (EKM) Rebels outscored LaMoure-Litchville-Marion (LLM) Loboes 17-6 in the fourth quarter and won the District 2 title 60-50. Napoleon-Gackle-Streeter (NGS) defeated Kidder County (KC) 54-50 and Linton-Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock (LHMB) defeated Medina-Pingree-Buchanan (MPB) 48-33 to advance to next weeks Region 1 tournament in Jamestown.

EKM Rebels 60 LLM Loboes 50
EKM built a 12 point lead midway through the second quarter at 28-16 (largest lead of the game) before LLM would go on a 28-15 run to finish the second and third quarters up 44-43. Mataeya Mathern led the way for the Rebels with a team high 19 points and added a game high 10 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals. Mathern had all 6 of her assists in the second half. Abby Mathern added 15 points and Libby Mathern added 11 points, 3 assists, and tied for the game high 4 steals. Betsy Huber added 7 points off the bench and grabbed 6 rebounds and a pair of steals and assists. LLM was paced by Tessa Rasmussen with a game high 24 points (all in the first 3 quarters). Rasmussen went 9-16 from the field overall and drilled 5-8 from three point land. Rasmussen also shared the game high with 4 steals. Addy Smith added 11 points and 2 steals. Nora DelaBarre added 10 points and 2 assists. EKM improved to 18-4 and LLM dropped to 14-8. Both teams will advanced to the Region 1 tournament next week in Jamestown.

LHMB Lions 48 MPB Thunder 33
The Lions led by as many as 20 points (41-21) late in the third quarter and defeated MPB 48-33. Emma Weiser paced the Lions with a game high 18 points and added 14 rebounds, and 2 assists. Jersey Vogel added 10 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 assists, and 2 blocked shots. Allie Dockter added 9 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Kalen Kinzell scored 15 points for MPB and added 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Allison Thomas scored 6 points and added a game high 16 rebounds and had 3 steals. The Lions improved to 16-6 and will advance to the Region 1 tournament and MPB finished the season at 5-17.

NGS Imperials 54 KC Wolves 50
The Imperials built a 41-23 lead late in the third quarter and led 42-26 heading to the final quarter. The Wolves made the Imperials nervous in the final 8 minutes cutting the lead to a single possession late but couldn’t overcome the huge deficit falling 54-50. The Wolves started the game going 5:30 before finally getting a triple from Breanah Pfaff. Pfaff finished the game with 8 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 assists. Grace Nicholson led the Wolves with 19 points, 6 rebounds, and added 3 steals. Taylor Zimmerman added 14 points, 5 rebounds, and a game high 5 assists and 5 steals. The Imperials received a huge game from Teagan Erbele with a game high 20 points, 15 rebounds, and 5 steals. Aliyah Schwartzenberger added 11 points and 2 steals. Ali Gross added 9 points and 13 rebounds. KC finishes the season 12-10 and the Imperials will advance to the Region 1 tournament with a 8-14 overall record (5-1 in last 6 games).
