In Loving Memory of Marshall John Munzlinger Jr
Marshall John Munzlinger Jr, also known as Miracle Man, born January 5th, 1946, peacefully passed to his heavenly home on February 11th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved son of Marshall John Munzlinger Sr and Agatha (Voss) Munzlinger.
Marshall grew up in the close-knit community of House Springs, Missouri, where he attended St. Anthony Catholic Church for elementary school and later graduated from Northwest High School in 1964. A proud patriot, Marshall served briefly in the US Air Force in 1964 before being honorably discharged due to medical reasons.
With a heart full of compassion and a passion for sports, Marshall played football in high school and
generously shared his love for the game by coaching little league for over a decade. He was a dedicated worker from a young age, spending his school days working part-time on a farm and summers in the fields.
On November 26th, 1976, Marshall married the love of his life, Jacque, at First Baptist Church in Fenton, Missouri, where they were faithful members. Later, they became cherished members of High Ridge Baptist Church in High Ridge, Missouri, until their move to North Dakota.
Throughout his life, Marshall wore many hats, working as a mechanic for many years and contributing his skilled hands to construction projects. In 2002, Marshall and Jacque relocated to Valley City, North Dakota, where Marshall found solace and purpose farming on his daughter and son-in-law’s farm, MP Farms, until his retirement.
Marshall was a true fighter and survivor, bravely battling cancer for over 20 years. His strength and resilience inspired all who knew him. In the end, Marshall was taken from us by the disease he fought so valiantly against.
A devout servant of God, Marshall was an active member of First Baptist Church of Valley City, where he served as a Trustee and Deacon for many years. He found joy in spreading the message of God’s love and grace to all those around him.
Marshall had a zest for life and cherished every moment spent in the great outdoors. He loved to travel, fish, tend to his garden, and was an avid hunter. But above all else, Marshall treasured his family more than anything. His unconditional love and unwavering support were a beacon of light to all who knew him.
Marshall is survived by his wife Jacque of 47 years, son Lee (Debra) Skyles, daughter Penny (Monte)
Peterson, daughter Sherrell (Michael) Gapsch, son Scott Skyles, seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. As well as siblings Les, David, Jerry, Dorris, Marion, and Tommy. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Richard, Ralph, Joyce, and Marilyn. Marshall will be deeply missed and forever remembered by the countless lives he touched with his gentle spirit and compassionate heart. May he rest in eternal peace, knowing he was loved beyond measure.
In Marshall’s honor, let us remember his favorite saying: “God is good all the time, and all the time, God is good”. May his legacy of love, faith, and kindness continue to inspire us all.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, Valley City, ND on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 2:00pm. Later in the spring , a Celebration of Marshall’s life will held in High Ridge, MO (TBA).
