VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City Police responded to an online threat made to Valley City Public Schools on Friday, February 9th.
Police Chief Nick Horner said through the help of students, those involved with the threat have been identified. The incident remains under investigation. No injuries were reported in this incident.
Meanwhile, schools Superintendent Josh Johnson wrote the following letter to address this incident.
Dear Parents,
I am writing to address a concerning issue that has come to our attention. We want to inform you that a threat was made online regarding our Junior/Senior High School and Sheyenne Valley Area Career and Technology Center. With assistance from students, staff, and SRO Hagen, we were able to identify the individuals involved in making these threats.
While this matter continues to be investigated by both school officials and local authorities, we want to ensure you that the safety of our students and staff is the top priority for the school district. These types of behaviors (threats) will not be tolerated in our school or community.
