JAMESTOWN – A state tournament berth may have slipped away from the Blue Jay girls hockey team on Friday as they were upended by Dickinson 3-2 at Wilson Arena.

The Jays fell behind 2-0 after one period but battled back to tie the game at two with a couple of third period goals courtesy of a pair of 8th graders, Grace Allmaras, her third, and Stella Belzer, her third.

Midgets leading scorer sophomore Kyndall Peterson scored two goals, her 11th and 12th of the season, including the game winner with only six minutes remaining.

Dickinson outshot Jamestown 29-25 with Blue Jay senior goalie Olivia Sorlie coming ip with 26 saves.

The Jays slip to 6-15 overall and 6-13-2-3 in league play.

Next up is Devils Lake on Tuesday with coverage at 6:45 PM on The Voice of the Blue Jays, Jamestown 107.1.
