MINOT – Gary Anderson heads to state as a regional champion and two Blue Jays boys return to state wrestling.

They are among the six Jamestown wrestlers headed to the state tournament after Saturday’s WDA Regional Tournament at the Minot State Dome.  Jamestown was 10th of 11 teams with 72 points.

Anderson won the 152-pound championship and improved to 35-1 this season with a 1-0 decision in the title match over John Richter of Bismarck St. Mary’s.

Jack Schauer and Lucas Schlepuetz return to state wrestling after qualifying in 2023.  Schauer was third in the regional tournament at 114 pounds.  Schlepuetz was fourth at 133.

Other Jamestown state qualifiers are Jerard Satterlee (160 pounds), Damien Cross (172) and Jaxsen Morris (215).

The Class A individual state wrestling tournament will begin on Friday at the FARGODOME.
