JAMESTOWN, N.D. (SCHRC) – The Stutsman County Human Rights Coalition (SCHRC,) together with the Zonta Club of Jamestown are proud to present a nonpartisan event: Women in Leadership program will be Thursday, February 15th, at 7:00 p.m. in The Arts Center, Jamestown, ND.
Panelists include Katrina Christiansen, Barb Lang, Mary Reed, and Pam Phillips.
The Zonta International USA Caucus notes, “women continue to be under-represented at all levels of political leadership. In the most recent North Dakota Legislative Assembly, 26 of the 94 State Representatives (27%) and 7 of the 47 State Senators (14%) are women.
Come hear these women speak about running for public office at the city, county and state levels. Learn what has motivated them to serve, what barriers they have encountered, as well as who has helped them along the way.
The discussion will highlight topics overlapping the mission of both sponsoring organizations, including how women are put in decision-making positions concerning women’s health, human rights, climate and environment, and pay and workplace equity.
Hearing the personal journeys of local and regional leaders will help identify how we all can better empower, support and respect women in leadership roles.
