VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Matthew Knight is now a Sergeant Knight with the Valley City police department. He was sworn in by Mayor Dave Carlsrud just before the city commission meeting on February 6th.
Police Chief Nick Horner said Knight is originally from the Finley, North Dakota area. He served in the U.S. Air Force for several years. Upon his honorable discharge, Knight returned to North Dakota and put himself through the Law Enforcement Training Academy in Devils Lake.
Knight was first sworn in as a police officer back in January of 2018. He has served with the department for six years.
