VALLEY CITY, N.D. (District 24 Dem-NPL) – Popular media personality and speaker Joel Heitkamp will highlight the District 24 Dem-NPL Convention in Valley City on Sunday, Feb. 18. The event will kick off at 2:00 PM at the Gaukler Wellness Center, according to District Chair Brad Edin.
In addition to Heitkamp’s address, the convention agenda will include adoption of the party’s platform and endorsement of Dem-NPL candidates running for the North Dakota Legislature from District 24. “We anticipate several nominations for the district’s three legislative seats, so it promises to be an exciting afternoon,” Edin said.
Convention goers will also hear comments from a number of the party’s candidates who are running for state offices.
Heitkamp served in the North Dakota Senate from 1995-2008. Prior to life in radio, Heitkamp served as general manager of Southeast Water Users for 23 years. He enjoys fishing, hunting, his grand kids, and Harley riding. Joel is a graduate of Hankinson High School and attended the University of North Dakota. Joel is married to Sue, and they have two daughters and six grandchildren.
District 24 includes all of Barnes and Ransom Counties. The North Dakota Democratic-Non-Partisan League is a grassroots organized political party. Its meetings and membership are open to any person who supports Dem-NPL ideals, or who simply affiliates themselves with Dem-NPL values.
