Elaine Faye Rienstra was born April 28, 1952, to Conrad and Janet (Boom) Rienstra in Valley City, North Dakota. She attended Svea Country School in Svea Township until the 6th grade and then attended school in Litchville graduating from Litchville High School in 1970. Elaine attended nursing school in Wahpeton, ND and graduated with her licensed practical nursing degree working as an LPN in various locations throughout North Dakota, Minnesota, Montana and California.
In 1979, Elaine moved to California where she met Jack Daily. They were married on March 21, 1980. During this time, Elaine took great pride in caring for their daughters Wendy and Tiffany and enjoyed cooking for her family. She was an active volunteer for the PTA and served as the treasurer along with other organizations winning awards for her volunteerism.
In 2008, Elaine and Jack returned to Litchville to be closer to family. She was a member of First Reformed Church in Litchville.
Elaine demonstrated and lived by her strength and did not let the challenges brought by her diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 1984 get in her way. Being wheelchair bound for the last thirty-five years, she remained very independent and active in the community with the help of Jack and her power wheelchair. In her later years she liked to read and play cards.
Elaine is survived by her husband of 43 years; her daughters Wendy Daily of Fresno, CA and Tiffany Daily of Madera, CA; grandchildren Tia and Sage; her brothers Dale Rienstra of Litchville, Jeffrey Rienstra of Chantilly, VA and sister-in-law Michelle McCarthy of Jamestown, ND.
Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, brother Terry Rienstra and sister-in-law Jan Otterson.
