JAMESTOWN – The West Fargo boys hockey team is the #5 team in the East Region, but they looked like one of the best teams in the state on Saturday as the Packers erupted for 11 goals and took down the Blue Jays 11-3 in a non-conference tilt at Wilson Arena.
Jamestown suffered its third defeat in three days and were outscored over that stretch 23-6.
The Jays got goals from junior Jackson Maddock, his 12th, junior Jacoby Traut, his third, and senior Owen Struble, his second.
West Fargo improved to 13-7 on the season and was led by Sophomore Ian Skari as he recorded four goals and now has 11 on the season.
Senior Chase Mattern scored twice, his fifth and sixth, as the Packers outshot Jamestown 38-31.
Jamestown will play their final home game of the regular season Tuesday against Mandan at Wilson Arena. Coverage will begin at around 7:15 on The Voice of the Blue Jays, Jamestown 107.1.
