HASTINGS, NE – The long-running road show for Jamestown Jimmies Basketball ended Saturday with a thud.
Jamestown’s women had their five-game winning streak stopped with a 66-45 loss to the Hastings College Broncos, and then the men fell to Hastings 84-83 at Lynn Farrell Arena as their three-game winning streak ended.

The Jimmies’ shooting struggled for the entire game as Jamestown registered a season-low in points.
In two of the quarters, the second and fourth, UJ (13-9, 9-7) was held to only nine points and Jamestown shot a season-low 34% from the field.
Freshman post player Rachel Goodon frustrated Jamestown at both ends of the floor, leading Hastings (11-11, 7-9) with 15 points, eight rebounds, four blocks and two assists.
Bailey Kissinger scored 11 points for the Broncos.
Audrey Rodakowski led the Jimmies with 12 points, but in large measure to due to Goodon’s defense, shot just 6-for-16. Kia Tower scored 11 points and Kate Cordes had 10.
After Jamestown trailed by only four at 38-34 late in the third quarter, Hastings then grabbed charge of the game with a 20-4 run.
Men: Hastings 84, Jamestown 83
GPAC leading scorer Reggie Thomas scored 29 as Hastings (15-7, 10-4) moved into a five-way tie for the lead in the men’s standings. Thomas hit four-of-five three-pointers and had nine rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block.
Quinn Johnson scored 13 off the Broncos’ bench.
Will Cordes scored 20 for the Jimmies (12-10, 7-7), all in the second half, and hit four three-pointers.
Cole Woodford scored 18, all on six three-pointers. Jimmy Llinas scored 13 with eight rebounds.
Hastings led by as much as 12 in the first half before Jamestown three times cut the lead to two in the second half. The Broncos later led by 10 before the Jimmies made the margin three in the last minute. Cordes hit a three-pointer at the final buzzer for the final one-point margin.
Neither Jamestown team has played at Harold Newman Arena since January 10, but both will on Wednesday. The Jimmies will host Northwestern, and coverage will begin at 5:30 on The Voice of the Jimmies, Jamestown 107.1.
