MINNEWAUKAN, N.D. (NDHP) – A Maddock woman died after a two vehicle crash about 3 miles north of Minnewaukan around 11:35am on Tuesday, January 30th at an intersection along U.S. Highway 281 and N.D. Highway 19.

The Highway Patrol said the driver of a 2011 Honda Element, 67-year-old Janice Elder was westbound on ND Highway 19 at the stop sign regulated intersection with US Highway 281. A 2001 Kenworth driven by 46-year-old Mitchell Weed of Minnewaukan was traveling northbound on US Highway 281. The driver of the Honda disregarded the stop sign, entered the intersection, and was struck by the semi at a right angle. The Honda entered the west ditch of US Highway 281, where if came to rest on its right side. The semi entered the east ditch of US Highway 281, where it came to rest on its top. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
