SIOUX CITY, IA – University of Jamestown Men’s Volleyball has been chosen by league coaches as the GPAC preseason favorite.

The Jimmies, the defending GPAC regular season and postseason champions, received four of the six first-place votes from the conference’s head coaches and 24 points.  Dordt was second with 21 points and one first-place vote.  Ottawa was third, with Morningside fourth, Kansas Wesleyan fifth and Central Christian sixth.

Ten conference matches will be played by each school (home and away with the five other teams), followed by a six-team conference tournament.

Opening round matches will be played on the courts of the third and fourth seeds on Saturday, April 13.  The tournament semifinals and championship, on the home floor of the regular season champion, will be held on Friday and Saturday, April 19 and 20.

The Jimmies have begun the season 3-0 after three wins in the Chicago area this past weekend and will host the Jamestown Invitational this coming Thursday through Saturday at Harold Newman Arena with matches against California Merced, Calumet and Campbelsville.
