JAMESTOWN – Jaidyn Nass scored and set up Williston’s two other goals Saturday as the Coyotes defeated Jamestown in girls hockey at Wilson Arena 3-1.
Aubrey Nass scored only 26 seconds into the game for Williston (5-9-0-3, 4-9-0-3 ND League), who doubled their lead on a Makenna Rehak goal with 3:05 left in the second period.
Jamestown (4-9-2-3, 4-8-2-3) scored with 7:20 left in the third period from Peighton Walker. Jaidyn Nass clinched the game for Williston with an empty net goal with 46 seconds left.
Olivia Sorlie made 34 saves in net for the Blue Jays, who were one point ahead of Bismarck through Saturday’s game for the eighth and final state tournament berth. Jamestown will play Thursday at Grand Forks.
