VALLEY CITY, N.D. (CHI MERCY) – CHI Mercy Hospital, alongside their parent company CommonSpirit Health, has created a grant program to fund projects that address significant needs in our community.
The hospital announced that in 2024 over $6,000 in grant funds will be going towards the Education Foundation for the Valley City Public School to help with their Access for All program. The Access for All program was created in 2019 when the Education Foundation partnered with The Village Family Service Center to provide behavioral health counseling in each of their schools. A clinical counselor, Katie Roach, is available to students 4 days a week and provides services for anxiety, depression, anger management, adjustment issues/concerns, behavioral concerns due to trauma, and ADHD.
The mission of the Education Foundation is to partner with the community and alumni to meet physical, social, emotional, instructional and critical needs of the whole student. The Access for All program currently supports around 56 students from kindergarten through seniors, so this money will assist in covering these expenses for their families.
CHI Mercy Hospital strives to be active in health-related causes that affect Valley City and the Barnes County community. We hope to make a difference in the lives of the people we serve. For future grant applications please reach out to Director of Mission Josh Gow at 701-845-6557 for more information.
