JAMESTOWN – University of Jamestown Golf Head Coach Zach Hale has announced his resignation. Hale will join the Kentucky Golf Association as Director of Amateur Competitions.
“Zach has done a great job continuing to build the University of Jamestown golf programs,” said UJ Director of Athletics Austin Hieb. “We are thankful for the time and effort he has put in over the last three and a half years and we wish him nothing but the best as he continues his career in the golf industry. We know he’ll do a great job for the Kentucky Golf Association.”
In four seasons as Head Coach, Hale led Jimmie teams to five top-six finishes in the Great Plains Athletic Conference, including a second place finish for the Jamestown women in 2020-21.
Under Hale’s leadership, 10 Jimmie golfers were named all-GPAC. 18 were Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
“While I am excited for this next venture in my life, I am sad to leave such a great group of young women and men along with a terrific university and community,” Hale said. “It has been a sincere honor leading the golf programs and being a part of the Jimmie family for 3 ½ years, and I will miss it dearly.”
Hale’s successor will be named as the result of a national search, which Hieb said will begin immediately.
