Carrington, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—The Carrington girls basketball team held the Grafton Spoilers to a season low 23 points and rolled to a 36 point victory 59-23. Grafton’s lowest point total prior to this was at Devils Lake two days earlier, losing 64-44. The Cards held the Spoilers to single digits in every quarter and allowed 9 second half points. The Cards were paced by Madison Johnson with a game high 13 points (3-three pointers). Edyn Hoornaert and Olivia Threadgold added 10 points each and Kacie Rexin added 9 points. Carrington committed 7 turnovers in the first three quarters and finished with 11 overall. Grafton finished with 19 turnovers (15 in the first three quarters). The Cards drained 10 more three pointers in the game, along with Johnson’s 3 triples, Kacie Rexin connected three times and Hoornaert added a pair. The Spoilers were paced by Addison Fredericksen with 10 points and Savannah Blackcloud with 9 points. Grafton dropped to 4-7 with the loss and 1-4 in region play. The Cards improved to 10-3 overall and 5-2 in region play. Carrington will travel to Edgeley on Saturday to play the E-K-M Rebels.
