VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The discount deadline for the 2023 real estate taxes for Barnes County is FEBRUARY 15TH, 2024. Tax payments can be made in person at the Treasurers Office, by check through the mail or dropped off in
the secure drop box on the north side of the courthouse railing at 230 4th St. NW, Valley City. The drop box is checked every day. If residents want a receipt for their payment, please note that on the check; make sure the check and payment stub is in an envelope.

You may also pay by e-check, debit card or credit cards at barnescounty.us A convenience fee will be applied to online payments. The e-check fee is $3.00 and cards average a 4% fee. If you have not received your tax statement, please call the Treasurers Office at 845-8505 or email treasurer@barnescounty.us

North Dakota homeowners may receive up to a $500 tax credit. This is for next year’s taxes. No age limit or income restrictions. The property must be resident’s primary home. This application is online only. The Treasurer’s Office will assist the public in getting this credit during the month of March. Stop in at 230 4th St. NW, 2nd floor Treasurers Office and we will assist those who do not have a computer. The deadline is March 31st, 2024.
