JAMESTOWN – Despite scoring first and having a huge shot on goal advantage, University of Jamestown ACHA Division 1 Men’s Hockey fell to McKendree University Saturday 4-1 at Wilson Arena.

Reid Wilson scored his 13th goal of the season for the Jimmies only 51 seconds into the game, but Jack Sumner tied the game for McKendree with a shorthanded goal 8:51 into the opening period.

The game remained tied until Matias Alexandrov scored for McKendree with 7:21 left in the third period.  Steven Brachert scored on the power play only 1:58 later and Bradley Richardson scored into an empty net with 34 seconds to go.

Jamestown outshot McKendree 64-31 but went 0-for-5 on the power play.  Bearcat goalie Chad Purdy made 63 saves.

The Jimmies will play Friday and Saturday against Waldorf University in Forest City, Iowa.
