The Kindred Vikings came into Friday’s game against Lisbon as the number-one team in Class A, and after their performance, that will not change anytime soon as they rolled to a 73-43 win.

Karson Ouse came out firing for the Vikings as he knocked down his first four three-pointers of the evening, while Jake Starcevic dominated down low to help propel the Vikings to an early 28-12 lead. For the Broncos, they tried to keep pace early on, with Jordan Bittner and Cameron Cordero carrying the bulk of the scoring load for Lisbon.

The second quarter would see another fast start by the Vikings as they built their advantage to 20 points before Lisbon tried to right the ship with a timeout. The timeout would pay off in spades as Cameron Cordero erupted for 14 points after the timeout, as Lisbon would outscore the Vikings 19-14 in the quarter to make it a manageable 11-point deficit at halftime.

While the Viking’s offense would once again struggle with efficiency in the third quarter, the defense would smother the Broncos, holding them to seven points in the third as the Vikings were able to build their lead up to 56-38. The Kindred offense would finally wake up in the fourth quarter as Jake Starcevic had 10 points in the final frame as he led all scorers with 26 points, with Ouse finishing the game with 17, as the Vikings rolled to a 73-43 win. Cameron Cordero was the leading scorer for Lisbon on the day, finishing with 22 points.

The next game for Lisbon will be Tuesday, January 16th, on the road against Central Cass, while Kindred will be back in action on January 18th against Central Cass.
