JAMESTOWN – For the second time in three days, Jamestown Blue Jay Girls Hockey took a top team in the state to a shootout and again fell short.
Ainsley Ness scored in the third extra round of the shootout Thursday to give Fargo North/South a 1-0 win over Jamestown at Wilson Arena.
Olivia Sorlie again was excellent in net for Jamestown (2-6-2-3, 2-5-2-3 ND League) stopping all 51 Spruins’ shots in regulation and overtime.
Fargo North/South (7-2-4-0, 7-2-3-0) outshot Jamestown 51-6.
Savannah Potratz gave Jamestown the lead by scoring in the first round in the shootout. Kenleigh Fischer scored for the Spruins in the second round.
Jamestown will next play Tuesday at Fargo Davies.
