Both Jamestown Blue Jays hockey teams took road defeats on Tuesday.  Jamestown’s boys fell 5-2 in Mandan.  The girls took the first-place team in the league, West Fargo United, to a shootout, but the Stampede won 3-2 after a 2-0 advantage in the shootout.

On Thursday, the Blue Jay girls will host Fargo North/South at Wilson Arena.  Coverage will begin at around 6:45 on The Voice of the Blue Jays, Jamestown 107.1.

Jamestown’s boys will host Minot on Friday, with coverage at around 5:15, also on Jamestown 107.1.

Boys: Mandan 5, Jamestown 2
Braves leading scorer Junior Carson Joersz made it tough on the Jays all night long as he picked up the hat trick and bumped his season total up to nine goals.

Jamestown got goals from Senior Tyson Jorissen, his seventh and Junior Grant Lunde, his third.

Blue Jay Senior goalie Carter Borg made 32 saves as the Jays were out shot 37-26.

The Blue Jays slip to 5-6 overall and 5-5 in the West Region.

Girls: West Fargo United 3, Jamestown 2 (SO)
Jamestown took #1 ranked West Fargo United to overtime for the second time this season. Unfortunately, for the second time this season, WF United came away with the win as they won the shoot out 2-0 after the game was still tied 2-2 after overtime.

Jamestown Senior Arya Mickelson scored her team leading sixth goal of the season and Senior Hannah Soulis smacked in her fourth.

Senior Goalie Olivia Sorlie had another impressive outing in the net with 47 saves.

The Jays slip to 4-8.
