Carrington, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—–Josh Bickett scored all 6 of Carrington’s overtime points and had a game high 21 points to lead the Cardinals to a 59-57 win over the New Rockford-Sheyenne (NRS) Rockets. Carrington won for first time this season and played it’s second overtime game of the year, losing last week to Nedrose 66-63. The Rockets and Cards played to a 29-29 first half and both teams traded 24 second half points to force the overtime session. Grady Shipman scored 12 points and added 11 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 assists. Taylen Mehring added 11 points off the bench including 3 big three pointers. Owen Hagel added 7 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals to aid the Cards victory. The Rockets were paced by Bennett Meier with 19 points and a game high 14 rebounds, and added 2 steals. Lucas Yri added 12 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Kailar Jacobson added 11 points and 5 rebounds. NRS will travel to Larimore next on January 18th with a 4-2 overall record. Carrington, 1-6, will travel to Minnewaukan and play Four Winds next Thursday and the game will be aired on AM 1600 KDAK (THE CARDINAL), FM 100.1, and www.newsdakota.com
