CASS COUNTY, N.D. (CCSO) – The Cass County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is advising the public that 29-year-old Jacob Iten and 29-year-old Amar Kovacevic have been formally charged for their roles in a burglary in Mapleton, North Dakota that took place on 12/22/23. Iten and Kovacevic were arrested that night with the assistance of the Metro Area Street Crimes Unit and the Red River Valley SWAT Team. Iten and Kovacevic remain in custody at the Cass County Jail.

The Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate other burglaries that have taken place in rural Cass County and have identified another suspect. The Sheriff’s Office is currently working with the Cass County State’s Attorney’s Office to criminally charge suspects in Cass County District Court. Further information will be made available when all individuals have been formally charged. No further information will be released at this time as the investigation is ongoing. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Fargo Police Department, West Fargo Police Department, and the Clay County Sheriff’s Office have been working collaboratively on these cases.

The Sheriff’s Office would like it noted that Iten was arrested on a Possession of Stolen Property charge stemming from a Sheriff’s Office case on 12/12/23 and bonded out of the Cass County Jail on 12/16/23.
