VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) On December 27, 2023, The Barnes County Commission declared a winter storm disaster for the county due to damage caused by the rain and sleet ice storm that moved through the area December 25th – 27th.
The purpose of the declaration is to mobilize resources and to appropriate or obtain necessary funds to aid in the repair of infrastructure and restoration of electric and other road damage caused by this storm.
A resolution to ratify the emergency declaration will be heard at the regular Barnes County Commission meeting on January 2, 2024 at 8am.
