Carrington, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—-The Carrington Cardinals appeared to be on the road to their first victory of the season with a 13-0 run to start the third quarter giving the home team a 40-27 lead with 5 minutes to play in the third quarter. Nedrose would swing the momentum to their side with a 14-4 run to end the quarter and only trailed 44-41 heading to the final quarter. Carrington would build a lead back to 7 points twice in the final quarter at 50-43 and 52-45 before Nedrose would fight back with a 10-3 run to closeout regulation with a 55-55 tie heading to overtime. Kaleb Eggen knocked in his only three pointer of the game in the final seconds of regulation from the left corner to tie the game for Nedrose. Carrington was paced by Josh Bickett with a game high 27 points which included five three pointers. Ryder Bickett added 11 points, Grady Shipman 9 points, and Taylen Mehring added 8 points in his 2 quarters of play in the first half. Carrington struggled from the free throw line making 13 of 27 for 48 percent. Nedrose was paced by Kaedin Bader with a team high 20 points. Keaton Cole added 14 points (8 in the fourth quarter and overtime). Jodey Myers added 10 points including his only made three pointers in overtime. Myers started the scoring in OT with a three on the first possession that set the tone for the Nedrose win. The Nedrose Cardinals picked up their first win of the season and now sit 1-4 overall and Carrington dropped to 0-5 with the loss.
